Wendy's is the Official Breakfast of March Madness
Celebrate with us and a free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit.
Food and sports have the unique power to unite and connect us. Enjoying a great meal while watching an athletic event creates a universal joy that brings us together in a variety of moments, both big and small. It’s at this cultural intersection where you’ll often find Wendy’s® showing up to play for our fans. In just the first three months of the year, our brand has activated on mountains, virtual football fields and the courts of Indianapolis. Just like the elite athletes, here’s how we’ve brought our A-game to these incredible moments of competitive excellence:
January: Official Breakfast of 2021 Aspen X Games®
We started the year off strong with our fourth consecutive X Games sponsorship. While the athletes navigated the Buttermilk Mountain terrain, we challenged ourselves to bring Wendy’s “gnarly” signature style to the Games virtually. As the Official Breakfast of the X Games, we leaned into gamification at Virtual X Fest experience to create an immersive, interactive opportunity to have our breakfast menu shine. We also had fun with Jack Mitrani live look-ins as he devoured Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits. A visual I will personally never forget!
February: Inaugural Sponsor of Fan Controlled Football (FCF)
We have a tradition of being first at Wendy’s that I credit with our winning streak. We were the first to have a value meal, introduced the first modern drive-thru – the list goes on and on. It’s why we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be among the first brands to support the inaugural Fan Controlled Football (FCF) season and sponsor the halftime experience. Just like one of our fries dipped in a Frosty®, this combines two of our biggest passions: gaming and sports to deliver big for fans. During the FCF games, players have access to “Wendy’s Hot Mic,” where they can ask viewers for certain play calls, trash talk, or shout out to the audience. Good news, there’s still time to check out FCF if you haven’t gotten in on the action yet.
March: Official Breakfast of March Madness®
As a returning official NCAA® partner for the fifth year – and big-time basketball fans ourselves – we’re as hungry for the return of the tournament as the most die-hard fanatics. As 68 top NCAA teams compete during seven unpredictable rounds, you can find us in the center of the action doing what we do best: serving up incredible delivery deals and delicious meals for our fans.
*From March 18–20, score a FREE Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit during breakfast hours in-restaurant or via drive-thru at participating locations nationwide, no purchase necessary*.
Don’t miss a moment of the action. We’ve got you for breakfast, lunch, dinner AND late-night so you can focus on the status of your bracket standings. From Sunday, March 14 through Tuesday, April 6, Uber Eats** is offering a $0 Delivery Fee on Wendy’s orders of $10 or more and you can head to wendys.com/delivery to learn more about other offers available this month.
Need a little laugh to ease pre-game nerves? Check out our TV spot featuring our famous friends Reggie Miller and Kenny Smith. We had so much fun with Reggie last year when he “bubbled” with us in Orlando, we had to invite him to join us in Indy. Who better to help us celebrate than the Indy legend himself?
March: The Wooden Award, presented by Wendy’s
Crowned as one of basketball’s most coveted annual achievements, the John R. Wooden Award® honors the male and female collegiate Player of the Year. As a proud sponsor since 2016, I love how the Wooden Award celebrates champions on and off the court. Best part? You can help decide who takes home the trophy by voting from March 15 through March 22. Don’t miss the live announcement on SportsCenter® on April 5 - 6.
Leave the upsets, heartbreak and drama on the court and count on Wendy’s to deliver just the way you want it – anywhere, anytime. Hungry for Wendy’s?
