Ilija Vadjon

Chief Information Security Officer

Ilija Vadjon has served as Chief Information Security Officer for the Wendy’s Company since February 2025. 

He leads the brand’s global Information Security strategy, and the Cyber Security teams focused on protecting Wendy's systems, services and data. This includes responsibility for Information Risk and Compliance, Offensive Security, Security Operations, and Identity and Access Management.

Ilija joined Wendy’s in 2012 as Senior IT Internal Auditor and during his time with the brand, he has taken on roles of increasing responsibility across information risk and security. In 2019, he was promoted to Director, Information Risk and Offensive Security. In March 2022, he was appointed interim leader of the Security organization, overseeing its operations until June 2022 while the company conducted a search for a new Chief Information Security Officer. He was promoted to Senior Director, Information Risk and Offensive Security in June 2022, and promoted to Senior Director & Deputy Chief Information Security Officer in June of 2023.  

His favorite Wendy’s menu items are the large Chili and 10-piece Crispy Chicken Nuggets, which he enjoys with his family on what they refer to as, Wendy’s Wednesdays. 

Ilija is passionate about mentoring others in the field, particularly those early in career, and serves as an active participant and leader in the local Columbus, OH Cybersecurity community. 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and Finance from Ohio University. His professional licenses include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), PCI Internal Security Assessor (PCI ISA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
