Wendy's Best Tweets & Moments of 2020
From Twitter to Twitch, Let's Take a Look Back
Most folks are happy to bid adieu to 2020, but we tried to capture as many silver linings as possible. There was one favorite place where we could infuse joy into the lives of our fans and celebrate a few meaningful moments: our Twitter feed.
So, while the last year had its moments*, we wanted to share our appreciation for the feed that kept us smiling, helped inform our point of view on important issues and, as always, served up realness.
* too many moments
We Launched Breakfast!
Our breakfast launch at the beginning of 2020 was one of the biggest moments in Wendy’s® history, and all eyes were on us. We knocked it out of the park by introducing the world to the Breakfast Baconator™ and the rest of what is going to be America’s Favorite Breakfast**. Fans began to wake up every morning with breakfast sandwiches made-to-order using quality ingredients, like freshly cracked eggs.
Who better to cement the debut of the best breakfast in the biz than former M*D0^@!#’$ chef Mike Haracz? After one bite of a Breakfast Baconator, he certified this queen’s crown - need we say more?
** they just don’t know it yet
Boom! Aced the test, didn’t even study. Shout out to former McDonald’s Chef @Mike_Haracz for joining the #WendysBreakfast party. pic.twitter.com/6ZXfekD0QG

Our breakfast launch also came with a morning content series full of freshly-cracked eggs, the sound of Applewood smoked bacon and more to give you a morning pick-me-up to go with your Maple Bacon Chicken sammie.
Time to toss that folded egg-plane they've been calling breakfast. Starting 3/2 you can treat yourself to fresh cracked eggs on every breakfast sandwich, every day. #WendysBreakfast pic.twitter.com/qWVneOtN4g

This was all going down right as the world was about to look pretty different. While our breakfast launch garnered praise and was a highlight of 2020, no one could’ve imagined what was next.
A GroupNug for 2020
Shortly after our breakfast launch, we all found ourselves in the midst of a pandemic, and the way we lived our lives had completely changed. We couldn’t hug the people we loved, and even though Wendy’s couldn’t give you a hug, we decided to bring in the next best thing, a GroupNug®. “Nugs not hugs” was the name of the game, and it was our way to show appreciation and lift one another up while we all masked-up and maintained social distance.
America, come get your GroupNug. Come to the Wendy’s drive-thru tomorrow and get your free 4pc. nuggets! pic.twitter.com/GRTmEcX3Ar

Wendy’s Cyber Search
By May we knew we weren’t the only one at home playing games, so why not invite our fans to join us? We hid gift card codes all over the internet with simple puns as clues. The world scoured our website, our tweets, and even levels of popular video games in an attempt to score free food during our Cyber Search.
This week, we will be hiding codes. Lots of codes. Codes that will score you free Wendy's. Hidden across our entire internet presence. The clues start Monday. Think you can solve the Cyber Search? pic.twitter.com/FB2IXQSyAq

Partnering with Thurgood Marshall College Fund
The tragic events that came to light over the summer made it clear we needed to do more to be a part of the solution as we committed to advocate for social justice. Our values guide us in all we do, and it’s especially important we Treat People with Respect and Do the Right Thing. So, on July 2nd, we handed the mic via our Twitter and Instagram to our partner, Thurgood Marshall College Fund® (TMCF®). The social takeover allowed TMCF to share more about who they are, what they do, and how our team at Wendy’s, along with our fans, can make a difference.
It was a needed conversation and gave us the opportunity to open up a dialogue, as well as reinforce our commitment to the Black community. In addition to these valuable Q&As, Wendy’s committed to donating $500K to support Black communities. Watch out for more in this space as we move into 2021.
Excited to partner with @tmcf_hbcu. We want to give them this platform to tell you who they are, what they do, and how we can help them make a difference.

Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich Spiced Up Profile Pics
Good things come in small packages, and our new Spicy Crispy Chicken sandwich was proof. The addition of this powerful lil’ sandwich to our 4 for $4 meal deserved to be celebrated with something equally exciting. To mark the new offering, we decided to spice up the world’s profile pictures in August, and let’s just say the world showed up and we upped their profile pictures in return.
Been working on the ol' photoshop skills. Hit us up and we’ll spice up your profile pic.

Gaming Through 2020
Then, like so many of our fans, we found ourselves …. Still gaming! We were on Twitch chilling with our gamer friends much of the year, and we were so inspired by the fun online we decided to take it offline and built a Mario Kart® course inside a local Wendy’s restaurant.
Want that blue shell with a side of fries? We’re playing Mario Kart Live all over this Wendy’s right now: https://t.co/P0GZ7DIn5g

To wind down the year, we partnered with Uber Eats and some of the top streamers on Twitch to give customers an exclusive Never Stop Gaming menu so we could all enjoy gamers’ favorite meals together.
Soooo you guys keep asking us to stream more on @Twitch so how about this. We partnered with @UberEats and five of the biggest streamers and we’re going to stream for five days straight. You ask and you shall receive. W’s in the chat all day, let’s go. https://t.co/IiVQtgeT16 pic.twitter.com/G5RgtnVQcL
